Follies.

So this year I was asked to do microphones for Follies.  I had no idea that it was such a important and stressful job.  I always thought that they used the hanging microphone for most of the acts but that is definatly not the case.  With the microphones you have to make sure that it isn't to close or to far from the mouth or else they won't pick up any sound.  With the microphones called Lavaleers you have to hook it under all of their clothes so your pretty such reaching up guys and weirdly girls shirts as well.  So in some cases it was pretty awkward.

The best thing that happened in the microphone room is Katelyn Corcoron.  She is so weirded out about shirtless guys.  Normally you love to see guys with no shirts on but not Katelyn, she thinks that it is so awkward.  Whenever a guy would lift or take off his shirt she would always shield her face and hide in the corner. At one time in the microphone room we had 3 shirtless men.

It happened like this...

Well this guy named Hayden forgot or misplaced his black shirt that he had to wear on stage so another guy named Dakota offered to give him his black shirt.  So Hayden takes off his shirt and then Dakota takes off his shirt so that Hayden can wear his shirt on stage.  Then Thad walked in and saw all guys with no shirts on so he said if everyone else is doing it, then his shirt comes off.  So we have 3 shirtless men and Katelyn is in the corner shielding her face so she can't see then with no shirts on.  While hiding she can't stop laughing and is barely breathing.  The rest of us girls are like okay shirtless boys...yay nothing wrong with that!

Finally the boys all have shirts an and then my microphone partner comes in and is also a boy who is in Concert Choir and has to change his shirt for all different numbers.  When his number is almost up he always just changes in the microphone room because it is just easier then going to the dressing room.  Everyone is just talking and then Andrew then realizes that his number is on next so he rips his shirt off and Katelyn freaks out.  Again another shirtless boy and Katelyn runs to the corner to hide her face so she won't see Andrew with no shirt on, while the rest of us are going on with life and not paying attention to the shirtless guy in the room.

So all in all, pretty good weekend in the microphone room.  Shirtless men all the time is always good and Katelyn freaking out about it, so great entertainment for the weekend.  I may have to be a microphone person again next year.
